Read, Weep and PrayOver the last few days I have been led to read more of the harms of the prosperity gospel and its effects on ordinary Christians like you and me. I don’t specifically look out for these accounts, but I believe God has led me to read them and warn others.

Some are really heart-wrenching accounts where families have lost loved ones and almost everything they owned. In the end, I can only conclude that the prosperity gospel not only takes away all that one has materially and turn one’s life on its head, but, more dangerously, it can also take away lives of those who trust in the falsehoods!

In one such instance that is very well-documented, let me share with you the account from the Parker family.

I have this much intelligence!George Bush bows to his god ‘oil’ and calls legitimate Israeli ownership of ‘Palestinian territories’ the big ‘O’ word — occupation1.

I wonder which Bible George Bush reads because the one that I read, and which many other Christians around the world also do, says that Israel belongs to the Jews, including the land which he now calls ‘occupied Palestinian territories‘.

And what in the world is a Palestinian state anyhow? There’s never been in history any record of a Palestinian state, or a Palestinian people. If there were, we’d see archaeological records of such a people, their culture captured in relics, writings, paintings, etc.

Yet there’s none.

What we do see from archaeological digs and know from recorded history even outside of the Bible is that there was a Jewish state in that strip of land, and in the ‘occupied territories’.

So, where is the legitimacy for the claim of these ‘Palestinians’ who now demand a state on the world stage, and which countless world leaders are scrambling to help create at the expense of Israel’s security and at the cost of billions of dollars.

Phase 1: Indignation

I just read this piece of news saying that as part of the ‘peace’ deal between Israel and the Palestinian people, Ehud Olmert’s government has turned over control of the Temple Mount to the enemy.

According to top Palestinian sources, the proposal is for Jerusalem’s Old City holy sites near the Mount to be governed by a Jewish, Christian and Muslim task force; and the Western Wall plaza below the Mount to be controlled by Israel.

In addition, Israel will evacuate from most of the West Bank and cede the eastern sections of Jerusalem.

The Temple Mount is Israel’s holiest site, for crying out loud, and people who have no claim whatsoever to land either historically, religiously or otherwise are demanding that the Jews give up their holiest site within their own state to foreign control?!

That made my blood boil with indignation.

Learning to trustHow many of us Christians pray and always say “Let it be your will, Lord, not mine” and really mean it?

I truly examined that yesterday afternoon, as I took steps to pray more like I mentioned I would a couple of days ago.

There are some problems in my life now that are due to a period where I was without a job and found it hard to make ends meet with the meager amount of savings left. Just yesterday, I had to get a matter settled which I really worried about.

I finally decided that I shan’t worry anymore and just leave it up to God and His will.

However, right after I prayed, I began to seriously ask myself “Did I really mean it when I said that it is in God’s will?”.
