I favored Darwinian abortion of potentially disabled children and agreed with the majority of Adolph Hitler’s statements about the disabled and invalid. I fantasized about murder and contemplated suicide and held nothing but hatred in my heart for anyone who told me I was wrong. In short, I was the most degenerate scum to ever walk the earth. That God saved me is still so far beyond my comprehension I have to wake up every day and think ‘wow’.”

Recently in India, as many as 50 people in Kottayam district went blind after staring at the sun for a prolonged period of time looking for an image of the “Virgin Mary”.

Believing in false signs and wonders can be dangerous and even detrimental to one’s health as evidenced in the story. Yet throughout generations, man has been looking for divine signs and wonders to prove the existence of God and/or bolster their faith.

Many of us Christians shake our heads at that, but what we don’t realize is that in the Visible Church itself, many are looking for the same things.

I am not talking about the Roman Catholic obsession with miracles and apparitions of Mary (I don’t consider the Roman Church part of the Visible Church anyhow), but the obsession with signs such as tongues, healing, and other ‘miracles’ in some Christian circles.

YOU feed them!Just yesterday in my post on feeling bitter, I said I’d share what I learned of the two passages I quoted, one of which was Matthew 14:13-21 where our Lord Jesus Christ feeds the five thousand.

Yet, as I read more about it, another lesson was given to me out of the same verses, and I think I’ll share that with you instead.

This other lesson is a lesson in ministry and how our surrender to our Lord Jesus Christ is an integral part of it.

Some who know me well will know that I get very riled up when I see Israel sinning and her leaders giving away land that is rightfully God’s in exchange for false peace. I feel indignant when Israel is being condemned and maligned, and when the world turns a blind eye to her troubles.

Nowadays, my wife will be the one to calm me down with these words “Dear, if these things don’t happen, how then shall what God has ordained to happen come to be then?” (I am paraphrasing a little here, but the essence is there).

This coming from a woman who used to scoff at my “doomsday prophet” sayings as she used to call them, ha ha!
