I usually don’t post these short little posts that do nothing but showcase a picture, video or audio clip but (with much apologies to my readers) this is too funny to pass up.

Picture of the pope that made me go hm...

The Protestant in me made me do it.

The RaptureI found this little gem of a parody about the end times from a Christian perspective, and I had a big laugh so I thought I’d share it with you.

The Book of Revelation has always been my favorite book in the Bible so much so that my wife christens me “Isaiah, the Doomsday Prophet”.

I’ve read the Book close to a dozen times or more, searched out commentaries, read dozens of interpretations and have a few books on just the Book of Revelation itself.

Some might term it a morbid fascination, but I firmly believe that God, in His mercy and grace, has shown us the series of events that must surely and soon come to pass.

I don’t want to sound like some alarmist here, but just take a look at the world today and what’s happening. Compare the events to what is in Revelation, and it will be clear to see that we are indeed heading towards our Lord’s glorious return!

I will share a few of my thoughts on Revelation in the next few days, so this video serves as a humorous opening to the series.

Enjoy!

Shalom Aleichem.

Christian Humor

Now, who was it that said that Christians have no sense of humor?

God is the one who gave us laughter, so naturally we can be funny people.

No, seriously, we can.

I saw this at Shalene’s blog and just had to share it with everyone else. Sorry if it’s corny, but it’s just so me (yes I can be the king of corny according to my wife, but I blame her family’s influence).

Homophobia is so gay.Reading dozens of blogs around Singapore and the world on the issue of homosexuality and why governments should legalize homosexuality and even allow homosexual marriages has taught me one thing.

Most people agree with the pro-homosexuality or pro-gay movement, and are vocal about it. People blog about their support for the movement, and their disdain for people whom they term ‘homophobes‘, ‘bigots’ and other worse names. Or they simply use the term ‘human rights’ loosely to state that homosexuality should be duly recognized.

Which makes me ask the question: where are the Christian voices against the movement?

Here’s another tune to carry the week, and this one is most touching.

When the heart cries
only God hears
The pain rises out of the soul
A man falls down before he sinks down
With a little prayer (he) cuts the silence

Sh’ma (Hear) Israel my God,
you’re the omnipotent
You gave me my life,
you gave me everything
In my eyes a tear,
the heart cries quietly
And when the heart is quiet,
the soul screams

Sh’ma (Hear) Israel my God,
now I am alone
Make me strong my God;
make it that I won’t be afraid
The pain is big,
and there’s no where to run away
End it because I can’t take it anymore
(make the end of it because I have no more energy left within me)

When the heart cries,
Time stands still
All of a sudden, the man sees his entire life
He doesn’t want to go to the unknown
He cries to his God right before a big fall

Marriage -- ordained by GodIn Part One, we learned that marriage is an institution ordained by God from the very beginning, when Eve was made a help for Adam as God knew that it was no good for man to be alone.

In this second part, we’ll look at the gender roles for men and women in a marriage as instructed in the Bible.

Husbands

Perhaps the most important passage in the Bible on the role of the husband in a marriage is found in Ephesians 5:23 –

For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.

Ephesians 5:23

That sets the tone for any marriage. The husband is the head of the family, just as Christ Jesus is the head of the church.

In today’s world where we read and hear of failed marriages leading to divorces, adultery and of couples that no longer communicate, it’s time to take a step back and see what God intended for men and women in the institution of marriage.

What most married couples don’t realize is that God has ordained separate and distinct roles for men and women in a marriage, and that it is exactly this failure to recognize and fulfill their roles that most couples end their marriages citing irreconcilable differences.
