The truths contained in the Word of God sanctifies the Christian, and it is these truths that God has given us in the Bible that teach, reproof, and correct those who truly seek God so that they might be equipped for every good work in Christ Jesus.
It is the aim of this blog ministry to boldly proclaim God’s Word to
- share the Gospel with non-believers
- edify and encourage fellow Christians through trials and tribulations, to study God’s Word, and to share the Gospel with many who are still lost
- provide a Biblical worldview on issues in life and what’s happening in the world today
- uphold God’s moral laws and statutes in a world where the word ‘morality’ is fast becoming a bad word
- encourage fellow Christians to be Bereans and to study and search the Scriptures for themselves instead of heeding the words and traditions of men
- warn against falsehoods in these last days
WordnVerse.com upholds the five solas, affirming:
- Sola Scriptura: the Bible is the final authority on all issues pertaining to our faith.
- Sola Gratia: we are saved by grace alone.
- Soli deo Gloria: all glory is due to God alone.
- Solus Christus: Salvation is found In Christ Jesus alone.
- Sola Fide: we are justified by faith alone.
About the Author
I was “saved” when I was just 13 back in 1983, but was I’d term a false convert without knowing it for a really long time. After leaving the youth group that I was in (The Navigators) while at college, the world beckoned and I succumbed, having no more protective bubble to restrain me. The world got a tighter hold on me when I enlisted for mandatory service in the Armed Forces.
It was only in recent years that God pulled me back to the straight and narrow and I truly knew that I was indeed saved. All praise goes to God for His grace and love for pulling a sinner such as me back from false belief! Soli deo Gloria!
By way of introduction, I am a 37-year-old man residing in Singapore, married to a lovely wife for more than a decade now, but childless. English is my first language, but I also read, write and speak Chinese well.
Having learned the hard way what a false belief can lead to, I am very concerned about many who I believe might be false converts, believing that they are saved but not leading a true Christian life. I cringe when people are told at altar calls to repeat a simple prayer and become a Christian.
Besides evangelism, I am also very passionate about warning people of the falsehoods that abound today in our churches today, especially the Word of Faith movement and prosperity gospel that are leading many to the broad road of destruction.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What do you do?
I’ve been working in the IT industry since graduating from college in 1995.
2. Can I link to a post that you’ve written or to your blog?
Please feel free to do so on both counts, so long as proper accreditation is given.
3. What’s your denomination?
I am a Bible-Presbyterian, though I personally feel that denomination doesn’t really matter that much because the denomination you belong to won’t save you. That said, I do believe that it is important that one attends a Bible-believing church where the Gospel is preached in earnest instead of falsehoods such as the prosperity ‘gospel’.
4. Which teachers do you usually listen to?
Paul Washer, John Piper, John MacArthur.
5. Traditional hymns or Contemporary Christian Music?
Hymns. When I listen to CCM, I prefer Hillsong, Don Moen, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Paul Baloche, Paul Wilbur.
6. Do you have a favorite Christian radio station?
Way of the Master Radio, hands down.
7. Play any sports?
I used to swim until I hurt my back in a diving accident. Nowadays I am an armchair football player, and I’ve been a supporter of Liverpool Football Club since I was a young boy of seven.
8. Any favorite movies?
I don’t catch many, but I love Princess Bride, Ben Hur, The Ten Commandments (the movie, not the animated version), The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Fiddler on the Roof, Braveheart, Band of Brothers (technically not a movie but a TV series)… erm, and quite a few others that I cannot recall at the moment.

Your blog is an encouragement. I’m a Singaporean studying in the Uk, getting a bit worried cos I’m hearing a lot of stuff here that hasn’t been in sync with what I’ve been learning back home… good to know that there are ppl contending for the gospel!

Thank you for the kind words and the encouragement, Ed! The wisdom is not mine, but God’s, and I only pray that I am a worthy bearer of His Truth.

Hi Isaiah,
I noticed you mentioned Atomic Leow over at Daniel’s blog. He was my teacher when I was at Singapore Polytechnic.
Did you know him well? I have fond memories of him - preaching/evangelising to the class and getting into trouble for that. But it is amazing that some of my classmates still remember him for that!

Hi Jenson,
Nice to meet you here

Isaiah
hi Jenson,
Thanks for dropping by.
I can’t say I know Atomic Leow well. He taught biology at SAJC when I was there in the late 80’s, and was also the discipline master.
My only brush with him was being lectured by him for an hour or so, LOL! He caught me and a mate for simply signaling to each other in the library. Unfortunately, I got a worse scolding than my mate because I was in the student council.
To be honest, I don’t remember much of that lecture, except that he left a lot of spit on my uniform (he tends to dispense a lot of that when he speaks in agitated tones).

Jenson
Hi Isaiah,
Thanks for that piece of information.
Atomic Leow is known by some in the Creation/Evolution debate - supporting Creation. He has a chapter (I think it is his testimony) in a book published by the ICR people. His strange first name helps…
And yes, I do remember his “spitting” problem.
He once told a classmate of mine in the Staff Office that she was going to Hell unless she trusted in the Lord! She was shocked, but then, it was much needed. She still remembers this incident even till today (>10 years ago) - so do I!
His small textbook on hydrophonics is still the gold standard worldwide.
I wished I had known him better when I was at SP.
Hi Vincent,
You know my reasons for disappearing… But it nice to meet you here. I will email you soon.

You’re welcome, Jenson, and thank you for the information too.
Good to know that the man is contending strongly for the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ! I am not aware of his testimony or that he is known in the debate, but it’d be interesting to read it!

This is Atomic Leow’s testimony.

Yes, that’s him alright, and to be featured on Answers In Genesis, that’s quite a feat!

Ha ha, you’re too kind, Douglas!

Just me again.
Isaiah I have already commented on your testimony(that was really important for me to do) but what I want to say here is also for all those commenting here as well. I read these comments yesterday and it just gave me such a warm feeling in my spirit of God’s love through Jesus Christ. Here I am sitting thousands of miles away in South Africa and I just felt so connected to all of you it is just such an incredible feeling. Isn’t God so good and so great. I have just started blogging around so I hope to visit all of you who have blogs to see if I can uplift and encourage you in any way. Oh by the way one my gifts is encouragement, so I intend to use it for God’s glory.

@Raymond White -
Brother, your gift of encouragement is very much needed in this day and age when we are so put down by so much unbelief and confusion amongst Christians. Keep exercising this great gift that God has given you, brother!
I’ve put your blog in my reader and will be visiting often. It’s a great read and I’ll be back for more!
God bless, and Shalom!

Thank you for the kind comments. I got your message at 12:40 AM my time because I am praying and feeling like Jeremiah (weeping for the “Christians” that are leaving their true God, for man-made idols). I needed to be reminded that “Yes, there are others out there.” Thank you. I look forward to reading your site and I’ll be back.
Now that my soul has been refreshed by the Lord and an obedient brother I’ll leave the world in the Lord’s hands and refresh my body.

@Berean Wife -
Thank you for visiting, sis.
Truth be told, I haven’t logged in to BlogCatalog for the longest time so I didn’t know why I logged in today and chose to check out some new blogs, “chancing” on yours in the process.
I’m glad that you’re refreshed both in the spirit and, hopefully by now, in the body.
God bless, and Shalom!
