A Song for Shabbat: Jesus Paid It All

I hear the Savior say,
“Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all.”

Refrain
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim,
I’ll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calv’ry’s Lamb.

And now complete in Him
My robe His righteousness,
Close sheltered ’neath His side,
I am divinely blest.

Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone,
Can change the leper’s spots
And melt the heart of stone.

When from my dying bed
My ransomed soul shall rise,
“Jesus died my soul to save,”
Shall rend the vaulted skies.

And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
I’ll lay my trophies down
All down at Jesus’ feet.

How can any Christian not love a song like this and yet feel “Mess Us Up” is appropriate? They are worshiping a “Different Jesus!”

BEAUTIFUL SONG!!!

Find in Me thine all in all.” My God is my all in all

Godbless

We often listen to the song, but don’t grasp the meaning of the words. How beautiful the words to this song are. It touches your soul and leaves you filled with joy, hope, peace and love. Blessings! :)

@Berean Wife -

I kinda preferred “You Spin Me…” :))

Seriously, I’m tempted to quote 1 Corinthians 2:12-14 for those who call themselves Christian but yet prefer Pino to such hymns.

@Valerie Lynn -

Thank you for visiting and sharing your thoughts, Valerie. I tend to think that, in general, hymns have more meaningful lyrics than most contemporary Christian music (or music that purports to be Christian but are not) and this is one fine example.

God bless!

Isaiah,

The verse I would quote about the music would be:

Heb 12:28-29

28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

29 For our God is a consuming fire.
KJV

The ESV and NIV actually say worship instead of serve. I am posting about this verse today but notice there is an acceptable way to worship and it should be with reverence and awe. Not all “messed up” but decently and in order.

“Jesus Paid It All” meets that requirement.
