Sure, pastors are men too and they might tell lies on occasion, but this is a different kind of lie — one spoken from the pulpit and even blaspheming the Holy Spirit!
What worries me more is that the audience seems to love lapping it all up, laughing at his “jokes” and agreeing with his blatant lies. Some even look impressed by his “wit”!

First of all, this guy needs to learn a bit about spiritual accountability before he takes anymore phone calls. Todd needs to learn some reverence for the holy act of baptism, and this “kinda the pastor” really should have nipped this behavior in the bud. Instead he decided to spread it to the entire congregation after putting his own sinful spin on it all. I’m shocked that he says the Holy Spirit made his lie a “cool” one. That wasn’t God, that was book learned knowledge of the Bible and his own sin nature combining. I think we should pray for God to convict the pastor, Todd, and the congregation on the matter. Not many things are more spiritually dangerous than trusting in a pastor to deliver the Truth and being served a lie instead.

I’m back, but this time I brought scripture. It’s so awesome how God works! I’ve been doing a study in James for weeks (it’s a really indepth study and I love it http://faculty-staff.ou.edu/R/William.R.Reed-1/Bstudies/index.html ). As I read today’s passage I had to come back to share it. It speaks so much to the type of wisdom this guy was using…certainly not the Holy Spirit making his lies “cool”….
James 3:15 & 17
Such wisdom does not come down from above, but is earthy, unspiritual, devilish.
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits.
This guy was looking to appease people, not to please God.

I’m not a stalker, promise, I just left off a great chunk of the Word and wanted to fix that…
James 3:17 says,
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy.
That “without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy” was well worth coming back a 3rd time, no matter how much of my dorkiness was exposed! =]

Yes, there are desperately sick people out there whom we need to help. Yet these wolves prey on such and instead of preaching faith in God’s providence and prayer, they fleece the desperate for their own gain (building riches upon the sufferings of others)!

After just watching the latest video from Lakeland I don`t know whether
I should weep or throw up!!
What makes me very concerned is the way people just lap it up, they
don`t even recognise when the devil has over stepped his mark. I now
live in Germany, when we first came 19 years ago you didn`t dare
mention charisma, but now they have gone overboard, I just do not
understand how Gods professing people can be so gullable. I feel
ashamed of what is going on in the Christian world, Lakeland has made
us a laughing stock!
