Just When You Thought It Was Safe…

by Isaiah on July 16, 2008

Todd BentleyI guess false prophets and teachers don’t really go away (pity!) — they just reappear somewhere else and wreck more havoc.

Right after the exposè on him was aired on Nightline on ABC, Todd Bentley announced that he would be taking time “to refresh and to rest”.

Good news! Or as I said to a brother, best piece of news to come out of Lakeland, Florida so far!

Well, surprise, surprise! Todd Bentley isn’t really gone, but it seems that moving out of Lakeland might just turn out to be a blessing in disguise for him (but a big groan of pain for us!). If you take a look at his itinerary for the rest of the year at his ministry web site (scroll down to the bottom of the page), you’ll discover that not only is Mr. Bentley not really resting, but that he will be bringing his “anointing” to several U.S. States and even to Uganda and the United Kingdom!

So, it does look like the departure from Lakeland has become an impetus for Todd Bentley to bring his ministry on a world tour and reach others who would otherwise not have a chance of receiving the “anointing” while he was entrenched in Florida.

Which means that, unfortunately, our cheers were terribly short-lived, and that, yes, we’ll soon hear more of his “BAM!” from all corners of the world.

And, so, just like the Great White in the movie Jaws, Bentley’s back to haunt and “anoint” just when you thought that the waters were safe again…

Crooks will always use the Bible to con othrs, esp Christians, as it feels holy and good to give for the cause of God. But take a moment to think - why must God be dependent on money for salvation to be preached? You mean without money, more people will go to hell? And God is powerless? Chrisitans need to think and accept the fact that they can be wrong, could be wrong…read my article on a possible interpretation of the Tabernacle, and leave your serious comments…

I just realised that Todd Bentley is coming to the NEC, Birmingham (20-23 Sep). That is just 10 mins from where I work - and its free! Thanks for the info.

Sincerely,
Jenson

Needless to say, I am not surprised. In fact, my dad was a state of euphoria to discover that Bentley is back on TV next Friday! False prophets die hard, don’t they?

@Douglas K. Adu-Boahen -

Are you off glasses now again, Douglas, since your dad probably knows that the man’s going to be in Birmingham soon as well.

Indeed.

I heard last Sunday that the CG member I had mentioned earlier is going to the UK to see him in September. *sigh*

I had already emailed a warning with all the links warning about Todd Bentley to that member much earlier, but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

Incidentally she is also very fond of Benny Hinn, in fact she had raved about him when he came to Singapore some time ago. I had not heard of him then, and did not realize he was also from the same wolf pack.

I find it interesting that she actually seems to know her Bible quite well, yet can be deceived.

@Isaiah -

I am practicing a little rebellion with a cause and keeping my glasses on, irregardless of whether Satan’s imp is in town or not. I’m very sure that if it is God’s will for me not to wear glasses, it would not involve me enduring excruciating headaches just for not applying common sense.

He hasn’t brought it up, and if he does, I will simply harden my ears to it. I hope it doesn’t sound like dishonouring my parents but I am just bored with hearing about the supposed healing abilities of Todd Bentley.

@ahbeng -

I’m going out on a limb here and say that anyone is able to read and know the Bible — in fact, some atheists know the Bible better than many who call themselves Christians.

The difference is in choosing to go just by the Word or depending on what one can see and feel, and I’m afraid that that’s what your CG member seems to prefer… what we can do now is just pray for her since she doesn’t want to heed the warnings.

Good for you, brother! Headaches aside, it won’t do your eyes any good in the long run!

I don’t think it’ll be dishonoring your parents; it’s a thin line. I know this is a bad example but if my parents asked me to murder someone, I don’t think it’ll be dishonoring them if I refuse. Though the example is a little far-fetched, but I think God’s Truth comes first.

This is really just way too cool.

“Fresh Fire” really isn’t all that fresh. It goes all the way back to 2001 at least. Click on “View old version on the Internet Archive” to see his teachings from way back in 2001.

There was transferring of healing over the internet even then!
