I came across this four-part series of videos by Justin Peters, who has credentials as a Master of Divinity (Biblical Languages), a Master of Theology (New Testament Major / Theology Minor), and is a recognized expert on the Word of Faith movement, having done his thesis on the life and ministry of Benny Hinn.
If you yourself are involved in a church that teaches this dangerous doctrine, and/or holds Benny Hinn and other false teachers in high esteem, I beseech you to watch this four-part summary and find out for yourself just how far removed such doctrines are from BIblical teachings.
And if you know anyone — loved ones, friends, etc — who are in such a church or following pastors who actively advocate the teachings of such false teachers, please show these videos to them. Better yet, order the full DVD set1 of the series A Call For Discernment by Justin Peters.
Again, I reiterate that this is only the overview of the A Call For Discernment series. For the full seminar, order the DVD (I would do it myself if I had the money).
You can also learn more about Justin Peters in this interview on the Drew Marshall show.
1 The author is not affiliated with Justin Peters ministry in any way. Neither does the author derive any benefits, financial or otherwise, from recommending the purchase of the DVD set.

Hello Isaiah:
Well, guess what…. incidentally, I came across Justin Peters’ site too, just a few hours before you posted this. A mere coincidence, perhaps?
One thing I noticed about these prosperity dudes is that many of them are from the same factory outlet — LCU. Check it out here http://www.lcus.edu/vip.htm
Personally, although we need to contend for the faith, I’m rather tired of these dudes and I get nauseous whenever their names are mentioned. There are more edifying things to do such as learning about God and reading His Word, are there not? Good post, nevertheless!

Isaiah,
I think you are doing good work, and acquitting yourself well:
Therefore I testify to you on this day that I am pure from the blood of all. For I did not keep back from declaring to you all the counsel of God. Therefore take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God which He has purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also men shall arise from your own selves, speaking perverse things in order to draw disciples away after them. Therefore watch and remember that for the time of three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears. And now, brothers, I commend you to God, and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. (Act 20:26-32)
I have to concur with the description of nausea expressed by yongchun, though. When I first started reading about Todd Bentley, I had to stop after about an hour. I had found out enough and did not need to read or watch any more to reach my conclusion.
It seems to me that God gives His children this ability to tell apart the voice of the Shepherd from that of a pretender:
The doorkeeper opens to him, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he puts forth his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him. For they know his voice. And they will not follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers. (Joh 10:3-5)

John MacArthur’s ministry here in the UK sent me their quarterly update and the DVD set was advertised. Having watched this, I might just buy a set for my Dad as a birthday present…

Ha ha, Yongchun, you and I know we both don’t believe in coincidences.
You’re quite right — most of them are from the same factory, and what’s amazing is that though that factory has been known to produce the worst and faulty products, people still buy their lousy goods, and think these goods up there among the best in luxury.
We should keep contending for the faith. I’m just a little tired of Bentley here and Bentley there. As I told a couple of sisters, I won’t stop warning, but I’ll like to also be able to encourage and share experiences in my Christian walk with brethren and sisters.
Thanks for visiting, brother. Been some time since we caught up, how have you been?

Thank you for the encouragement, AhBeng. I say this with all humility — I don’t do all this to acquit myself though, but to warn beloved brethren and sisters against the pitfalls of trusting such wolves in our midst. I’m like the busy-body sheep in the flock, if you will.
I’ll be continuing to warn whenever I see that some new wolf has managed to mix with the flock, or if an old wolf suddenly has some new tricks.
Let’s continue to pray for discernment among the body.
God bless!

Ha ha ha! What are you studying for? An exam? If there’re any prayers you covet, please don’t be a stranger.
Take care, my good brother. The Lord our God keep and bless you!

@Isaiah -
Yes, Isaiah, I am studying for an academic exam which is only a few weeks away. Thanks for asking and don’t worry about me — I’ll keep you posted.
Hello lee> yes, CHC is a word of faith church. They regularly invite wof preachers (Hinn, Meyer, Thompson, Avanzini) to their pulpit; and CHC pastors often preach the sow-a-seed prosperity doctrine.

Going by what I’ve been observing — when it comes to the teachings, CHC is definitely a WoF church.
Moreover, as Yongchun mentioned, their association with teachers of the WoF movement certainly qualifies them as one as well. Why else would a church invite the same genre of preachers again and again to indoctrinate their flock? Not to mention that Kong Hee has been known to be a regular on Hinn’s TV show “This is your day”.

I see. But i have not heard from the church about the little gods doctrine and other blasphemous stuff yet. So far is just the prosperity. Ill continue to pray for the church.
