How Dare You Speak Out Against Homosexuality?! Renounce Your Faith!

Talk about tolerance, huh?

One of the most oft-repeated accusations against Christians who speak out against homosexuality is that we are intolerant, close-minded bigots. Well now, let’s see who the real intolerant, close-minded bigots are!

A pastor in Canada has been ordered by the government there to renounce his faith and never again express his moral opposition to homosexuality!

In addition, according to the report, pastor Stephen Boisson has been asked to pay $5,000 for “damages for pain and suffering” as well as apologize to the activist who complained of being hurt.

Boisson had written a letter to the editor of his local Red Deer newspaper in 2002 denouncing the advance of homosexual activism as “wicked” and stating: “Children as young as five and six years of age are being subjected to psychologically and physiologically damaging pro-homosexual literature and guidance in the public school system; all under the fraudulent guise of equal rights.”

The activist, local teacher Darren Lund, filed a complaint and the guilty verdict from Lori G. Andreachuk, a lawyer, was handed down some weeks ago. The latest decision involved the penalty phase of the trial.

In his report on the judgment, Pete Vere of the Catholic Exchange wrote that “In essence, the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal is ordering to the minister to renounce his Christian faith, since his opposition to homosexuality is based upon the Judeo-Christian Bible.”

He went on to wonder if Canada now considers morality a “hate crime”, asking the question “If one, because of one’s sincerely held moral beliefs, whether it be Jew, Muslim, Christian, Catholic, opposes the idea of same-sex marriage in Canada, is that considered ‘hate’?”

Well, now, I guess some of us have been right all along with what we have perceived to be the meaning of “tolerance” as defined by these militant homosexual activists — that it just means that only those who agree with their views are seen as “tolerant”.

While it is totally alright to call us Christians names, slander us, belittle our intelligence and even question our humanity, it is perfectly legal for homosexual activists to haul us to court on the charge of a “hate crime” if we merely tell you what the Word of God truly says about homosexuality!

I just had this same type of occurence over at my blog, and I started out specifically NOT mentioning homosexuality… :) I guess the absence of this was the precise reason I got “targeted” by the reader, but I think I handled it ok. Thankfully, it is not yet illegal to speak out against homosexuality in California- even if they have decided it’s legal for them to marry. Blessings to you!

@Shalene M Kearney -

I read that post of yours on bigotry, Shalene, but I held myself back from participating for personal reasons. :P

It’s sad to see the slippery slope that the world is on. In the name of tolerance, all we see is a futile battle that only one side is winning all the time because one bad word against their practices is seen as intolerance and bigotry by everyone else. Once that label’s put on you, you are drowned out altogether by other “tolerant” folks just waiting to jump into the fray.

Anyhow, for us who are involved in this battle, we all know too well the usual brickbats thrown at us. :)

Keep persevering for the truth, sister!

God bless!
