Che Ahn
While doing some research on Che Ahn, the pastor who recently spoke at City Harvest Church as a guest pastor and administered “healing”, I was troubled to find out that Che Ahn is very closely associated with Bentley, and has even pronounced a “prophecy”1 on the latter.
The more troubling issue is this: why would City Harvest Church, having knowledge of this close relationship between Che Ahn and Bentley (who is obviously a liar, charlatan and false prophet) invite the former to guest-speak to their congregation?
To me, the incident doesn’t speak well of the level of discernment of the leadership at the church, since Bentley’s lies and obvious lack of Biblical truth have been called out by so many, including respected leaders in Christendom.
Moreover, inviting this pastor Che Ahn2 to speak at the church might even expose many, including countless non-believers who are usually invited to such services, to untold horrors because this whole Bentley movement isn’t of God, but is even demonic!
One needs question why a church in Singapore would bring such liars and false prophets to minister to its congregation, especially since I understand that much of the congregation consists of the young and impressionable.
Here’s Che Ahn supporting Todd Bentley at the latter’s “outpouring” ministry at Lakeland, Florida:
Bob Jones?! Alarm bells… they are a-ringing…
Prophecy of a third wave confirmed by a huge crashing wave at their feet? What is this guy talking about? Which fantasy is he living out? If they were indeed 200 feet from the sea, that’d be about 60 meters inland from the shoreline. Now, for a wave to come crashing in right at their feet like that… erm, do you think, hm… it could be, like, a tsunami?!
By the way, did Todd say “holy goat” near the end of the video, or do my ears need cleaning? “Freudian slip” perhaps?
The alarm bells have become screaming sirens now…
Nothing tumbling out from the mouths of this duo is even remotely Biblical!
People used to berate me for lamenting about the prosperity gospel preached at City Harvest Church, but this is different… when a church willfully and knowingly exposes its congregation (which I might add is about 23,000-strong) to such dark powers, one needs to start asking hard questions of the leadership and demanding answers, ensuring that they are accountable!
It’s worrying indeed. Very worrying!

I think he did say “Holy Goat”, at least that’s what I heard. As far as the wave coming in about 100 yards or 200 feet (or whereever they were) I was thinking that was a sign as well. That is, provided that it actually happened. Of course, in my experience, anyone who starts a sentence with a validation (“I’m not exaggerating”) is probably lying anyway.
These guys are really scary!
Now I’m sick of hearing about Bentley - what’s worse is the company he hangs around…this “prophetic” bunch make me sick with their lies and deception.
Two UK pastors who went to the “revival” are on TV tonight for a live TV program - and I intend to e-mail in with my dissent regarding this nonsense, but I have had enough!!!
@Mike -
Well at least I don’t need to get my ears cleaned, thank you for confirming that, LOL!
You know what surprises me about these people? They speak of such ‘miracles’ and ‘phenomenon’ without batting an eyelid, like it was some common occurrence, as common as, say, taking out the trash or meeting a neighbor at the store.
Seriously, no matter what these liars say, anyone seeing such a huge wave coming inland would run for their lives instead of standing there watching. They are scary, but not as scary as those who can sit there and drink every word they say and believe the lies!
@Douglas K. Adu-Boahen -
Right now what irks me more is not so much Bentley, but that this church that I pointed out willfully invited someone who has the Bentley (demonic) “impartation” to guest-speak to their congregation, promote Bentley and worse yet, conduct a “healing” ministry where he was imparting the same spirit to hundreds, perhaps thousands!
I’m hopping mad!
Isaiah,
I’ve been saying for years that these wolves work together….they preach in each others churches, invite their heretic friends to hold “revivals” or “conferences” and this is reciprocated…and big money is always involved….
Anyone who brings in a guy like Bentley is only out for the cash IMO.
Andrew Strom said it all when he stated this movement has zero discernment…and he should know as he was in the prophetic movement for over 12 years….
hey brother. Remember i said about you should not bring diversity into the body of christ. I fear now that the charismatic movement is bringing false unity where pure doctrine and commandments are compromised. This should not be happening.
A church member in response to my question on the church refusal to obey 1 Corithian 14 is that these commandments are subjected only by the corinthian church. City harvest need not follow these commandments. I dunno what to reply to him because my jaws literally dropped. I can only pray to god to help city harvest and end this dangerous charismatic movement.
@Phil Naessens -
I very much agree with you, brother!
@lee -
Shalom, Lee, how have things been for you?
Just to clarify: I don’t bring diversity into the body of Christ — it’s not me, nor any of the brethren and sisters who warn of these dangers, but it is those who bring in such heresies and apostasies that bring division to the body.
You’re right — the movement is bringing in false unity, which in actual fact, in my opinion, should actually be termed (perhaps) the biggest schism the Protestant church has seen since the Reformation.
The problem with those who follow this movement is that most are cherry-picking verses to support their agendas while discarding those that speak out loudly against their wrong practices and heretical doctrines. They also insist on the experience rather than true wisdom that can only come with a solid grounding (knowledge) on the Word of God. In other words, experience, emotions and feelings are of more importance than what the Word of God actually says.
Brother, I am not surprised that someone will tell you that. In my dealings with those who follow the prosperity ‘gospel’, I have heard worse things like the “fact” that Jesus was rich, and that the reason why the Roman soldiers drew lots for His clothing was because the clothing was of a good quality.
We can pray for them, but with this latest episode, and having other false teachers like Benny Hinn lined up for an event near the end of this year, I doubt if things will get any better. It’s not that I don’t trust God to deliver them, but they have given themselves up to following falsehoods and turned away from sound doctrine.
hey bro,
theres actually 1 think i forgot to mention, which is the main reason i defended for city harvest.
1. The church members believe jesus is the son of god, died for our sins, believe in the ressurection, repented. Which means their main doctrine is absolutely correct. So if they truly believe in jesus christ, non-blibical things such as slain in the spirit , holy laughter can it be from satan? Since the bible also mentioned that if you believe in jesus and the holy spirit is in you, theres not a chance where the devil can possess you.
2. The bible says to check if the tree is bad, check its fruits. City harvest is very active in the elderly and mentally slow people to come to our church to worship god, active in evangelism, bible study and cell group meetings. Theres actually no rotten fruits. But of course, i cannot tolerate the church’s non-biblical doctrine and constant invitation of false prophets to preach. So it makes things very confusing.
I also noticed that Pastor Tan in city harvest is like the counter balance of Kong hee. When Kong preaches abt reap and sow and reap 100 folds, pastor Tan will then preach the following week about brokenness where god will test us when things go wrong financially, marriages and health. So we should glorify god even when things goes wrong and know that life will not be a bed of rose. So maybe Pastor Tan is not all prosperity gospel? The believe that God will bless us and take care of us when we believe in jesus christ is correct and not a prosperity gospel.
So what are your view points?
Lee:
1. Even the Saints can be deceived. It isn’t enough to believe in Jesus - even demons know scriptural truths (James 2:19, Matt 4, Luke 4 etc) and would even wield God’s Word against Jesus himself. Victorious Christian living means that we need to be discerning regarding doctrines because they are all connected. Also, ‘repentance’ from CHC is suspect - I’ve had dealings with a young-in-faith CHC member who still don’t understand what repentance is… for her, it’s more apt to be renamed ‘regret’. Another longer-in-faith CHC member’s version of repentance is also to ‘pick and choose’; repentance about an action he did, but not repentant enough to deal with the consequences of that action. His repentance doesn’t necessarily mean a change in behaviour or a return to walking according to God’s Word, but a return to secular versions of ‘doing good’ while still maintaining a secularised version of a ’successful’ lifestyle - car, cash, women. Of course, 2 members out of thousands of congregants cannot point to a flaw in the church itself - but it is troubling that both these members claim to be rooted in CHC, participating in its cells, ministry and worship. They also sprout shaky doctrines, a lot of Christianese - all without understanding, and they both share that they are in close counselling with the church leaders.
2. Your point about tree and its fruit is correct. However, we need to be clear about form and reality. CHC may be active in creating a lot of social enterprises in serving the community. However, this isn’t a manifestation of ‘good’ fruit. This is form - this is what James calls ‘true religion’ (James 1:27). Fruit looks at the character, and it’s of a concern that CHC members are still associated with a focus on prosperity and blessings, that members appear to have very shallow understanding of God’s Words. How can you say that there isn’t a rotten fruit, but that the church allows it’s pulpit to be used by false prophets? Confusion would indicate something rotten.
3. Again, I revert to the point that not all CHC members should be coloured with the same brush. I do believe that there are members there who are genuinely seeking God and are walking right with Him. However, I think it would be difficult to walk right if the messages from the pulpit and the leaders are dodgy. Therefore, I’m actually quite happy that Isaiah here has a watchman ministry where these dodgy messages can be pointed out and CHC members seeking to know God’s Word deeper can have an avenue to find out for themselves what God has to say about what comes out of the CHC pulpit.
Finally, this personal account isn’t from CHC, but the other mega-Church: At a wedding dinner I attended, the Pastor who got up to say Grace for the meal prayed a dis-Grace-ful Grace. He first joked that the reason for our gathering was finally at hand - the dinner! He then prayed that the food we would be eating would have zero cholesterol, that the food would make the Aunties at the dinner young, that it would make the women younger and more beautiful, that it would even make the groom virile.
It was utterly disgraceful because not only was the prayer unbiblical, the non-Christians at the dinner would think that we take our God with such frivolity, and that our focus was all wrong. Furthermore, it makes Christians sound stupid - does it mean that we’re free to eat cholesterol-laden food, but we won’t suffer from the cholesterol just because we prayed that? That God gave us wisdom, but we exercise faith to overcome wisdom??? And instead of celebrating love, the coming together of 2 believers in the faith, we celebrate the food instead? *sighs* Sometimes, I fear that the prosperity-name-and-claim-gospel goes too far and cause people to stumble without even knowing that they stumble.
@lee -
Brother, I think Brenda has addressed all the points you raised, and probably did a better job than I’d have!
I hope that it’s fine with you if I just concur with Brenda as I’d have pointed out the same things.
@Brenda -
Thank you, Brenda!
p.s. that prayer is an utter disgrace! Imagine what a great time it’d have been to minister to the non-believers if he hadn’t botched it! Who’d take him seriously or Christianity or, gasp! Christ seriously after such a disgraceful display!
Indeed, Isaiah, our table of friends suddenly found it hard to enjoy the food.
(And don’t even get me started on the way the church wedding was handled!
)
@Brenda -
IMO, it’s the Church losing sight of who Christ Jesus is. You can see that all over the shop — statements like “Jesus is my homeboy” or “God loves you, Jesus loves you, everything’s fine” irk me.
Release that mighty holy goat???! My, oh, my, how frightening. Out of the heart the mouth speaketh?
@Melissa -
Shalom, Melissa, thank you for visiting and sharing your thoughts.
I’d say “yes!” to that definitely.
Thank God for Youtube, eh? It’s really been interesting to go back and watch these wild stories early on and realize that it was mostly all hyped in the first place.
The Big Boys knew early on that there was money to be made by hitching their wagons to Bent Oddly. What a ridiculous story Che Ahn tells. And oh, Bill Johnson paid for all these “Apostles” to stay at a 5 Star Resort in Kauai? What the? Where does the average Pastor Dude come up with the dough to pay for something like that? I know…
One more gripe, Che Ahn tells the Bent one, “I must decrease, you must increase?” What? He is John the Baptist and Bentley is Jesus Christ?
UNBELIEVABLE!
Kong Hee, Todd Bentley, Benny Hinn, Joseph Prince, Kenneth Copeland, etc…are all in the same league?
@saliormoon -
I don’t know enough about Joseph Prince to make that statement. However, I have enough information about what Kong Hee, Todd Bentley, Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland to know that they teach the Word of Faith doctrine.
@Brenda -
Yea they are coming in november for asia conference. O o… Thanks Brenda for your detailed explanation about chc. May God continue to use you to reveal the importance of sound doctrine.
@lee -
Brother, have you read about John Avanzini and his new “stones”? I’ll need to finish that piece up and warn as well since Avanzini is not only a regular guest pastor but also listed as a lecturer on CHC’s School of Theology.
@Isaiah -
Yes bro. I have listened to the word faith conference report. And it cant be any more obvious that these people are teaching the doctrines of demons. Oh no he is teaching in SOT chc? I got to warn them!
This is frightful! How could CHC not do a proper background check and discern in the Spirit before bringing in such quack preachers?
I checked out Todd Bentley which Che Ahn is closely related to and the youtube videos are so salah.
It clearly shows demonic presence - esp Stacey Campbell who prophecieses at Todd’s revivals… she is scary! All that head shaking spells demonic possession…
How can anyone listen or watch them in action and still believe them???
Pastor Che took the “Friendship Ring” initiation to the New Age? off his left hand finger for a wedding band. And he put it on Todd’s marriage ring finger, maybe this is helped to break his marriage.
Look at the Utube and the connection is, they both have the same demonic Kundalini snake demons.
1. This is leading to demon possessed pastors: Pastor’s wife flopping like a fish and husband, Pastor joining her… Che and Sue Aha http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Pastor%27s+wife+flopping+like+a+fish+&search_type=&aq=f

Thank you for writing about these things.
I wish singaporeans in CHC would read up more and understand the blasphemy these guys are preaching. Not only does CHC invite Bentley, they also glamourize personalities like Benny Hinn (well known in the US for being theologically unsound). My heart breaks for friends in this church, who are taught that these tricksters are being ‘persecuted’ for being faithful! I pray that God opens their minds to being rational and look at the research out there on these dark characters.
Singaporean Girl:
Thank you for dropping by, and the kind words. I do what I can to warn fellow Christians of the false teachings present.
CHC didn’t invite Bentley per se, but they had Che Ahn, and the latter was a big supporter of Bentley’s ministry. In fact Che Ahn even ‘anointed’ Bentley in his heydays.
It seems like the leadership at CHC is definitely leading many astray. A cursory look at the guest pastors in the past few weeks sound off a few alarm bells, with the likes of Peter Wagner (NAR) and Casey Treat in the past three weeks alone.
