I feel sorry for Pastor Larry Reed’s friend, but at least we know that the good pastor is now with the Lord, and will no longer feel the pain of the bone cancer that has so tormented him.

This is my first post to this forum, and I’ve been following the Lakeland revival ever since I got word from Andrew through his email about it. I live in Washington State, and I have been dealing with a lot of people asking me about this “revival” and what my thoughts have been. I have advised people to constantly “test the spirits” and the usual, feeling that this is mostly emotionalism and hype and agreeing with most in these forums, that what has been going on here is not of God.
I do believe that the Lord will take this awful situation and turn it around for good. I do believe that while they maybe using the Word of God for personal gain, God’s word will not return void but it shall accomplish that which He pleases, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto He sent it. I believe that God will deal with these false prophets in time. I do pray for the people who thought that they had an encounter with the Holy Spirit, that they will truly come into a personal knowledge of the truth. I have so much to say about this as I’m sure y’all do.
Anyways the real reason I decided to post on here was because of a dear friend of mine who passed away this morning at 5:20 AM. His name is Pastor Larry Reed, Pastor of Olympic View Assembly of God in Silverdale, Washington. Pastor Larry has been suffering for the past 18 months of terminal bone cancer. He was given only a year to live, but PRAISE THE LORD out lived the doctors findings. He (Pastor Larry) told me last year at breakfast one morning that he wanted more for Jesus and was going to do whatever it took to accomplish that. He invited speakers from all over the country from evangelists to prophetic speakers so that he and his congregation could catch the fire and maybe just maybe a revival would break out in his church.
He really took a turn for the worst this year, and lost most of his weight, he looked like a skeleton, was on oxygen and needed care all of the time. He couldn’t even preach anymore. Pastor Larry was a man who dearly loved Jesus, and was very strong in his faith and very strong in stature physically. So to see him him so frail was shocking to say the least.
Last week on 5/18/08 he was in the sanctuary there in Lakeland trying to find the healing he soo much wanted, sitting in his wheel chair in front of Mr. Bentley, he was deemed as “healed” when Pastor Larry stood up and cheered in victory. During the course of last week when he returned, he got worse and so this morning he died.
Now I have to say with all my heart that I believe without a shadow of doubt, that this so called “revival” is fake! I wont question my friend’s faith because his ministry was filled with faith. But if this was truly a move of God and all these people were getting healed, then why did my friend die?
I truly believe with all of my heart that God in His infinite mercy and love for his child Larry Reed took him home this morning to end his suffering and that he is face to face with Jesus right now. But what about all the others who have been duped into going along with this mess and is finding out that they right back where they started? I tell you if I could I would knock some people’s lights out, of course that wouldn’t be right, but that’s how I feel.
I hope that all of you who stand up for this guy Bentley, will “wake up, arise from the dead and allow Christ to shine in you”, the days are evil family, the light of day is growing shorter and shorter, and we’re wasting our time hunting down the anointing looking for the next wave of revivals. People are dying about a hundred thousand a minute. Instead of seeking the anointing for yourself why not run out to your street corner and begin to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and take on the heart of Spurgeon when he said that if people want to go to Hell, the they will have to jump over his body to enter those gates!
Amen to what you said in the last paragraph, brother. AMEN!

Well you were right about one of those things anyway. They involve the sovereignty of God. The rest of what you said is actually unbiblical and puts the power of God in the hands of a man. I get so sick of hearing people try to blame the sick and the hurting for not “having enough faith”. Why don’t you go and read your Bible, man. READ IT! How many people were healed because of their faith? NONE. Jesus healed the Centurion’s son and the faith of the Centurion was commended, but the son’s faith was not mentioned, nor was he healed because of the faith of his father, but because of the sovereignty of The Father.
Most of the other examples you will find in the Scriptures actually demonstrate the reverse of what you are saying. People were healed miraculously and as a result they had faith. Not the other way around. That’s why they were so overwhelmed by what God had done. God had mercy on them, just as He has had mercy on every sinner that he has elected to save through the sacrifice of our Lord upon the cross. It’s not because of anything deserving in us, brother. That is just flat-out error. But don’t take my word for it. Go read your Bible and see what the word of God says for yourself.

YOU BETTER BELIEVE THERE IS A TIME to use all caps, or to scream the loudest your vocal chords could ever scream to show to others around how serious the situation going on is, and one of those times is when referring to someone like Bentley who is seducing souls into eternal fire. If your precious self is offended by someone using all caps, then I would hate to see how you would actually act in response to a physical assault situation where real violence would be needed to stop a physical assailant, which is a WHOLE LOT MORE HARSH AND SERIOUS THEN USING ALL CAPS IN A SENTENCE.

My name is Donnamarie Morgan and I am a member of Olympic View Assembly Of God and I am appauled at the comments about my pastors healing. Pastor Larry stood for Jesus Christ and for his grace and mercy. Pastor Larry loved the fire Todd Bently spread to our congreation and others, I watched the hope for his future in his eyes…..wherever that was going to be. I and the rest of our church body boldly stand behind the healing, HE WAS HEALED! who are you to say how it was to be. Please do not use our pastors memory to hurt a brother in Christ! until the Religious spirit is removed from you eyes you will never know the Mysteries of our Lord.
I ask in the name of Jesus for you to stop hurting the Lakeland revival and Todd Bently. But for the grace of God…….Read Corth 13. Please stop the JUDGMENT !

I was not surprized. Faith healing is just suicice & murder,esp. if the recipient is told -commanded- to avoid doctors, medicine and surgery. Unfortunantly there are cults of a few thousand who insist they are the ONE TRUE CHURCH ! There are also fanatics who protest abortion and then they also denounce family planning for ANY reason. On top of all that, there is the endless bicker about the sabbath, about the soul between death and the resurrection, and so on !I am GLAD I am a modernist and a liberal evolutionist, since the bible does not make anything clear at all, but is contradictory and confused.
