Holy Water Is Passe, Get Popewater Instead

I saw this advertisement on a Google AdSense panel on my blog, and being the curious person that I am, copied the URL and checked out the site.

What I saw had me in stitches. Though I can’t believe people will actually sell these, it will not surprise me one single little iota to find out that there is actually a market for this!

Sad, but true…

Check out Popewater… water that was blessed by the pope during his visit to the United States of America recently that will “symbolically bring the holy matrimony of Christ into your home”!

Here’s the write-up:

By purchasing an original bottle of Popewater, you are investing in a unique, priceless treasure, which is both simple and affordable. Popewater is the perfect gift for those who believe.

Believers value the great potential Popewater offers for body and soul, for the entire being. Not everyone has the opportunity to personally receive the grace of an encounter with the Pope, the successor of Petri.

Popewater contains water that has been blessed in the course of a Papal Visit. This way you may have part of special moment the head of the Roman Catholic Church has provided when issuing his blessing.

I have no idea what the symbolism of the “holy matrimony of Christ” is, but I’m guessing this magic water will perhaps fill me up with the “special grace” I missed for just 17.00 €! What a ripoff deal…

I’m quite sure it’s not a scam but a genuine product, unfortunately. You have no idea what some people will buy nowadays if manufacturers just slap on a Bible verse or cross on a product to make it “Christian”.

    ‘… the successor of Petri’

Petri? Petri Dish? =)) Oops, that was mean…

It’s Latin for Peter, but I know you already knew that, LOL! Truth be told, the petri dish was what came first to mind too… :P

Well, it depends on the word modification I guess. I know it more as Petrus rather than Petri, but then of course I don’t read the Vulgate, so I wouldn’t know what word they use.

Isaiah, I agree with Ed on this I think it’s an evil and fraudulent way of making money.
this is so funny and those involved in this are just greedy and will do anything to make money even use the name of the Lord to do so.

    Godbless
