I have no idea why your comment ended up in the spam bin, Justin, Good thing I checked! :-B

My theory is that people are looking for something outside of our dross existence nowadays. Modernization hasn't made our lives better, it's quite the opposite. It's all work and no play now. Where once people had time to have a cuppa and just chat, we are too busy in our "to and fro" lives to do so now...

And even when we do, Blackberries, mobile phones and the ilk disrupt unceasingly. Ever been walking with a friend/colleague and hoping to have a conversation but half the time he's on the phone? Irritating!

The worse thing is that Emergent churches are also getting into yoga, meditation, etc., and so are countless Christians thinking that it's harmless exercise and even good ways to reflect on God's teachings. Sigh! The (almost non-existant) level of discernment today both saddens and worries me.

I watched Oprah too for some time last year after discovering it on cable here. I gotta admit some of her shows were kinda fun, especially the home makeovers (my feminine side talking here, you know). And Dr. Phil was kinda refreshing as well... lol!

Lost interest after awhile, and now that she's got this New Age thing going, I'm not suggesting anyone watch it anymore, especially Christians.

Now that you mention it, I'll try to make sure videos have closed captioning in future wherever possible, Hannah. Ugh, how inconsiderate of me sometimes... #:-S

Isaiah, you have had the most interesting posts lately. I have no doubts that whatever God is putting on my heart, He seems to be putting on your heart as well.

I never cared for Oprah, but when she started praising "The Secret", I knew to stay away from her.

The New Age is growing so rapidly, and there is going to come a point when God says, "I've had enough". I was part of it about 10 years ago, and at the time I felt like the only one. Now, horoscopes, yoga, wicca, reincarnation, belief in ghosts, etc. all these things have become so widely accepted it is scary!

I was an Oprah fan until about ten years ago.... her claims to be Christian didn't match up with what she was saying. I agree that she is a "New Age Guruist" than anything else.

By the way Isaiah, THANK YOU for the video which has a closed captioning button on it. I was able to understand the video in whole. ;)

God Bless!
