Dan King at Bibledude.net tagged me for this rather interesting meme to list seven of my favorite blogs in various categories.
I must first apologize to Dan for being tardy with my response though, as I had initially planned to do this on 31 December like some kind of “Look Back…” program. Then again, I have already chosen a blog for each category, so there’s no point in delaying the post till the “appropriate” time.
As with most memes, let’s first state the rules up front:
- Link back to Dan at management by God and BibleDude.net as the originator of this meme, and to the person that tagged you with it.
- Pick one blog for each of the seven categories listed below. It is okay if others have selected the same blog for the same or different reasons. Just pick what your personal favorites are for each of the categories, link to their site, and briefly explain why you selected them.
- Pick three other bloggers to pass this on to. I can be people that you’ve selected or not, but they are three people that you would like to see which sites they select.
Without further ado, here’s my list of blogs for each category:
The Blog That Most Challenges Me
This goes out to TWJ Ministries for never failing to make me examine my own walk with the LORD. I am always amazed and awed by just how much faith Sidharth and his fellow writers at the blog have!
The Blog That Most Inspires Me
Mike’s blog — This I Do — is a blog that I ‘discovered’ recently. Since then I have been to his blog daily and have never left uninspired by his posts.
The Most Creative Blog
I agree with Dan on this one — it goes to Guerilla Evangelism with nary a second thought. It is just a pity that he hasn’t updated the blog for a long time. Perhaps I’ll help out with some photos if and when I get my hands on my own digital camera next year.
The Most Heartfelt Blog
Oh, I love Michelle’s blog — In The Life Of A Child — so very much! She has such a great writing style that complements so very well her heartwarming posts about her family life. A visit to the blog will always have me either laughing till I ache or reading on with my eyes moist. Her blog tugs right at your heartstrings without fail.
The Blog With The Most Useful Information
To some extent the blog I’ve chosen for this category is due to what I am researching and reading up on at this time, i.e. the emerging church movement and ecumenism. Christian Research Network does a great job of being the Watchmen who informs and warns us about the falsehoods, apostasies, and wolves in sheep’s clothing that are about us in these exciting times leading up to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Blog That Interprets The Word The Best
I have to admit I had some problems choosing just the one blog that deserves this. The main question was “interprets the Word the best” according to who? Certainly it cannot be according to me! As I re-visited all the blogs I had put down for this category, I finally decided to go with what I kept hearing in my head — Carol at The Bible Thumper’s Soapbox gets the sole spot in this category. Don’t go to this blog if you need some feel-good seeker-feeler “God will make you rich” posts, Carol goes straight for the jugular with God’s Word, and that’s what I love about her blog.
The Blog I Most Look Forward To Reading More Of In 2008
I am going to treat this category like a “Best Newcomer” award. While the blogs I had in mind might not necessarily be new in terms of age, they are new in terms of the fact that I’ve just recently discovered them. And one of these “new” blogs I’ve come to read more of in the past weeks is Chris Carey’s Inside The Mind of a Worship Drummer. I love his honesty and can certainly see parallels of my life in his posts though we are continents apart. Besides, I love drums too but I can’t play them, unfortunately.
So, there you have it, my list of seven for 2007. I’d have chosen more than one blog for some categories but rules are rules and some of the blogs I would have added have already been mentioned by either Dan or Shalene.
It now remains for me to tag three others to do the meme, and I’m going to pass it on to:
- Carol at The Bible Thumper’s Soapbox
- Casey at Casey’s Critical Thinking
- Lance Gargus at Lance’s Soul Searching
God bless you all!
Shalom Aleichem.

Thank you for the compliment, Dan. Thank you for starting such an interesting meme in the first place, I really enjoyed doing it.
I did select a couple of sites that were previously chosen by both you and Shalene.

God bless, and Shalom! -
I hope you had a great and encouraging time checking those blogs that you have yet to come across, Shalene.
Do let me know what you think.

God bless, and Shalom! -
Thank you Isaiah for the nomination, I am honored and humbled. Do you know when Dan is going to tally these up because you tagged me and I’ve got to tag others and I’m working on something right now (a new blog I’m creating) but if this is time-sensitive, then I’ll get to working on it now.
Thanks again to you and Shalene for nominating me in that same category.

You’re most welcome, Carol. You know you deserve the nomination.

I think it best that we ask Dan about that. He did mention that he’ll try to tally the list. It might be hard because a meme can go on and on, so I guess he’ll have a cut-off date for submissions.New blog?! Nice! I look forward to reading it.
God bless, and Shalom!

Thank you for this acknowledgement! I’m sorry I missed it before, I don’t know how since I read everything you post…ok, I’ll admit it…when my reader gets full I sometimes get a little happy with the mark all as read button……..=[… and without a link I didn’t see it show up in technorati. Hopefully I can live up to your eagerness for more. I do it mainly to help myself but if it can work in others lives to that’s awesome!

You’re very welcome, my good brother Chris. I know how it goes with readers, I myself use Bloglines mostly to keep up with the list of blogs that I frequent, and it can get daunting sometimes for people like us with so many diverse interests.

I do look forward to reading more from you. May the LORD guide you in your walk with Him and your music and blog ministries.Shalom.
